Engineering Coatings & Cladding

This section encompasses the range of Coatings and Claddings that are applied to a surface to increase wear resistance, corrosion resistance and thermal properties, among others.

There are a wide range of coatings that can be applied, including Titanium Nitride, Chromium Nitride, Molybdenum and Zinc. The application method for these coatings varies depending on the components intended use, and are covered in the relevant sub-sections.

Cladding covers the application of dissimilar metals onto a metal substrate, in a welding style process.

General Engineering Coating and Cladding processes include:
• Physical Vapour Deposition (PVD)
• Chemical Vapour Deposition (CVD)
• Technical Polymer Coating
• Thermal Spraying
• Hot Dip Galvanising
• Metal Overlay Cladding
