Technical Polymer Coating encompasses the application of polymer compounds to the surface of a component to enhance the mechanical performance over its life.

Commercially known Polymers and Fluoropolymers include PTFE or TEFLON®, XYLAN®, MOLYKOTE® (Silicone-Polymer) among others.

Each coating has its own design application, with common expressions such as "Non-Stick" and "Dry-Lubricant" being most familiar.
