Material Testing & Evaluation
This group of processes includes the various methods used to test and evaluate material to measure its properties and determine its suitability for use in an application. These processes can range from visual assessments using technical equipment to analyse the structure of a material, to physical tests which determine a materials ability to withstand various forces.
Both destructive and non-destructive methods of testing are included in this section. By performing material testing, it is possible to identify a wide range of properties that will identify whether a material is suitable for use in various applications.
The testing and analysis methods incorporated into this section include:
• Hardness Testing
• Tensile Testing
• Impact Testing
• Positive Material Identification (PMI) Testing
• Chemical Analysis
• Metallurgical Testing
• Micrographic Testing
• Feritscope Analysis
