This section encompasses all Micrographic Testing, which allows information to be gained about the metallographic structure of a part.

Micrographic Testing utilises either a scanning electron microscope or an optical microscope to capture a detailed, magnified image of a material or part.

This test can be used to identify a variety of information about a material, including any defects, assess the metallographic structure and to determine the phase volume fraction.
