This section encompasses the varieties of Tensile Testing performed to determine the strength of a material.

Tensile Testing works by applying a pulling force to a material and measuring its response. By measuring its elongation, the strength of a material can be examined, and a stress/strain curve plotted.

Key properties of a material than can be calculated during tensile tests include Yield Strength, Young’s Modulus, Ultimate Tensile Strength (UTS) and the Break Point.
