Dimensional Inspection

This category encompasses the measurement of a component or assembly dimensions. These processes involve the use of a measurement device from which dimensions can be recorded and evaluated against tolerances.

These are forms of non-destructive testing. Varied levels of accuracy can be achieved, with basic measurement techniques requiring no more than a pair of Vernier Calipers, through to highly accurate techniques requiring temperature control to provide the required levels of accuracy.

Methods of Dimensional Inspection include:

• Co-ordinate Measurement
• Manual Measurement
• 2D Vision System Inspection
• 3D Laser Scanning
