Centrifugal Casting

Centrifugal Casting uses a permanent mould into which molten metal is poured whilst the mould is rotated.

In centrifugal casting the aim is not for the molten metal to fill the die, but for the molten metal to be forced centrifugally to the outer perimeter of the die.

Centrifugal casting should not be confused with spin casting which is a low temperature metal, or plastic casting process using a rubber mould.

Centrifugal casting can be used for high integrity components, cylindrical or having rotational symmetry.
