This process involves the Compaction of Metal Powders into "green" components (not full strength) through the application of Planar or Directional Pressure through a die (not uniform as with “Isostatic Pressing”).

Dies and presses may be simple with a single acting ram, or more complex with double acting pins and rams to accommodate stepped geometry in the green components.

This process category encompasses the metal powder forging process with or without a sintering cycle.
