forming-manufacturing-processes > Ferrous Investment Casting

This process encompasses the use of disposable ceramic moulds to form geometry from the solidification of molten Ferrous Metal by casting.

The mould material and construction method is what differentiates the casting processes, in Ferrous Investment Casting the ceramic moulds are created by overlaying ceramic slurry onto a wax, or other expendable material which is then fired to create a mould with relatively complex geometry and high strength and stability at high temperatures.
