This category encompasses the Pressing of sheet metal to form a component as "deep" or “deeper" than its diameter. This includes components under  300mm in diameter / square.

Given not all components that are stamped are cylindrical, the diameter is an approximation. Components of great depth to diameter ratio are achievable in many steels using the appropriate processing method.

Typically carried out using a progressive die methodology, deep drawing, especially at large ratios is a specialist capability.
