bending-manufacturing-processes > Pipe & Section Induction Bending
This process includes the Bending of Pipe or Section with the presence of heat generated by an Induction Heater. Application of heat is limited to the area under greatest stress during bending, allowing the bend to form more easily than cold bending.
The pipe or section is progressively fed through the machinery, the heating element is stationary therefore only a very small portion of the workpiece is actually hot at any one time. having significant advantages over furnace heating, then hot bending using specialist high temperature equipment.
Typically used on the Thickest Wall Sections where bending without the presence of heat would be extremely difficult, if not impossible.
Induction bending can be used to form elbows, returns - but also more complex forms with bends in both directions to form a continuous piece of pipe or section, preventing the need for fabrication.
