Vertical Boring is performed on workpieces SMALLER than 1000mm in diameter.

In the Vertical Boring Process, the component is rotated as with vertical turning and the machine tool remains static, the process is used when components are difficult to mount in a horizontal lathe due to size and shape.

For Vertical Boring of larger workpieces see “Large Vertical Boring”.
