This process utilises an Electrical Discharge Machine and a very small diameter die to create highly accurate holes in a workpiece.

EDM Hole Drilling is often used to provide the starting point for EDM Wire Erosion operations, creating a hole through which the wire can be passed to start the wire erosion operation.

EDM Hole Drilling can in some cases be used to create curved holes and holes at angles to surfaces, where conventional contact methods would not be possible.
