This process uses temperature-regulated baths of etching chemicals to remove material to produce highly accurate components with the desired shape, profile  or surface pattern.

It is mostly used on metals, although other materials are increasingly used.

No mechanical force is used during the etching process therefore meaning material properties are no effected and components are from free stresses and burrs.
