moulding-additive-manufacture > Low Pressure Injection Moulding

This process involves the use of the Injection Moulding process at low pressure to create a moulding with a component encased, or partially encased in the solidified plastic. This provides a component or part of a component with a protective plastic coating or shielding.

Can be utilised to cover entire components such as electrical assemblies, or parts of components forming water tight junctions between cables and connectors.

Also referred to as Overmoulding, a variety of plastic materials can be used to achieve required moulding properties.
