Friction Welding
Friction Welding is the process of welding materials together through the creation of frictional heat. Frictional Heat is created by rubbing the joint interface together.
The frictional heat, whether this be linear or rotary, causes the intersecting material faces to plasticise, once this happens an axial force is applied, pushing the workpieces together, consequently bonding the faces.
Friction Welding can be performed on metals, plastics and recently even some woods.
• Rotary Friction Welding
• Linear Friction Welding
• Friction Stir Welding
