inspection-and-assembly-manufacturing-processes > Water Decay Pressure Testing
This section encompasses all processes where water is used to test a part for strength and leaks. Another common name for this process is Hydrostatic Testing.
For Water Decay Pressure Testing, a part is filled with water and pressurised to a set level. The pressure source is removed and the reduction in pressure is measured.
Visual checks are also performed to identify any leaks. Typically, the water is dyed to make visual identification of any leaks easier to detect.
