inspection-and-assembly-manufacturing-processes > Sniffer Leak Detection

The section encompasses all Sniffer Leak Detection systems which are used to identify leaks from a sealed component.

Sniff Leak Detection systems typically use low pressure helium to fill a part. The test part is scanned for helium leakage and the increase of helium in the environment measured to determine the extent of any leakage.

This method is particularly good on identifying areas most likely to encounter small leaks, such as welded joints.
