Zinc Alloy Plating is a coating process for metals which utilises a zinc and alloy mix to protect metal from corrosion and oxidisation. Popular alloys which are mixed with zinc include nickel, iron and tin.

The most popular alloying agent is nickel. A zinc-nickel alloy plating can provide up to 10x greater corrosion resistance to a metal than zinc plating alone. Typically, the content of nickel included can range between 6% and 20%. Popular industries where zinc-nickel plating is utilised includes the automotive and aerospace industry, electronic components and the defence industry.

For a zinc-iron alloy, the iron content is typically between 0.3% and 0.8% , whereas for tin-zinc alloys, the tin content is as high as 30%.
