Palladium Plating applies a layer of palladium onto the surface of component to increase its resistance to wear and corrosion.

Palladium is a precious metal which is cheaper and more durable than gold. In industry, it is often used interchangeably with gold to help reduce cost.

While palladium is similar to gold, it is quite brittle and therefore prone to cracking. This means it is only used as a plating material. Palladium Plating is typically performed using the electroplating method.

Popular applications for Palladium Plating include catalytic converters in automotive applications, as well as electronic and biomedical applications.
