finishing-and-treatment-manufacturing-processes > Hard Anodising
This process encompasses the use of a Sulphuric Acid solution (at higher concentration than used in Sulphuric Acid Anodising) to form a stable oxide layer on suitable materials, such as hard anodised aluminium.
By submerging components in the Concentrated Sulphuric Acid Solution whilst applying a voltage over the component and the solution, thick oxide layers of up to 100 Microns can be formed.
Due to the thickness of the oxide layer formed, surface finish of the component is reduced through Hard Anodising.
