Foil Blocking, also known as foil stamping and hot stamping, is a commercial printing process which adds a metallic finish to a component to improve its aesthetics.

The process uses a heated die to press a pre-glued metallic foil onto the surface of a component. The metallic foil adheres to the material surface, leaving an imprint in the shape of the die on the component.

This process is available in a range of colours and is typically used on applications including stationery and business cards, brochures, passport covers, electrical components and automotive parts. Foil Blocking can be performed on a range of materials to enhance their visual appearance.
